JAYETI BHATTACHARYABorn in: 1989
India
Born in 1989, Jayeti Bhattacharya completed her education from Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan and presently living and working in Kolkata. Her work mainly involves in exploration of documented photography, collected objects and drawings. Time plays a vital role in her work. She has been part of GenNext VI and VII by Aakriti Art Gallery in 2012 and 2013 respectively. She has participated in an online project “Scribble it Down”: Parallel Lives and Artist laboratory, an international digital collaboration curated by Einat Moglad in collaboration with Emergent Art Space, San Francisco in 2014-2015. She has been part of an international exhibition for emerging artist “Translations” in I.C.C.R, Kolkata organised by Emergent Art Space, Sanfrancisco, 2016.
Bhattacharya was invited to give a public forum talk about her work by Rajya Charukala Porshod, West Bengal Government. The artist was part of “ Bad Smell. Good Smell” curated by Manas Acharya, Studio 21, Cima Art gallery in 2017. Her work titled “ The Mason’s Cup “ was published in Hakara Journal in edition counter, 2018. Her works were displayed in an episodical show named “Raconteurs” – episode 2 “ Defining a Relative Space” in A.M studio Kolkata, 2018. Recently she was part of CIMA Award Show 2019 and an international traveling show named “ The Last Image show” curated by Gadi Ramadhani in collaboration with Emergent Art Space and Allaince Francaise, Tanzania, 2018 and Zambia, 2019.
