Nobina Gupta is a Kolkata based artist-curator and an alumnus of Santiniketan. A staunch believer in socially engaged art practice, she conceived the Disappearing Dialogues (DD) collective, which aims to initiate interdisciplinary interactions. In the past five years, DD with Nobina as the Founder Director, has developed into a dynamic platform engaging different communities, institutions, social groups and generations through interactive artworks, research, documentation, community collective activities reflecting on historical, cultural, social and environmental losses, sediments and memories intrinsic to a city or a region.
As an artist Gupta has created a niche for herself, through significant representation at national and international forums – from the India Art Fair and the Art Fair Cologne to Art Stages, Art Asia Miami and Art Dubai. As a solo artist, her works have been showcased at Gallery Sanskriti in India, Jan Kossen Contemporary Gallery & Galerie Kashya Hildebrand both in Switzerland, and has participated in group shows in London, Sweden, Indonesia and India.
