Born in 1984 in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, Ranjeet Singh completed his Bachelor and Master of Fine Art in Painting from Faculty of Visual Arts, (B.H.U.) Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. His repertoire comprises numerous awards, scholarships, camps, and workshops including All India Bronze Award by Prafulla Art Foundation, Mumbai; Junior Fellowship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India; National Artist Camp at Bengaluru organised by L.K.A., New Delhi and more. Singh has been a part of several solo and group exhibitions across the country.
Ranjeet Singh’s practice is representative of life around him and snippets of his childhood. He uses the figurative representation to make a statement on lives of people from Jharkhand where he hails from. His visual language signifies brawls that grip working class of the region and their endeavor to make ends meet. The artist lives and works in Delhi.
